# Salesforce

> Let your assistants read Salesforce accounts, contacts, leads, and opportunities from your own org. Read only, and updates are never run from chat. Coming soon.

Status: Coming soon

Salesforce is where many companies track customers and deals. Once you connect it, your assistants can read your accounts, contacts, leads, and opportunities to answer questions about your pipeline.

> [!SOON]
> The Salesforce integration is Coming soon. This page describes how it will work. The integrations open at launch are GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.

## Which assistants use it

| Assistant | Status |
| --- | --- |
| [Accountant](/docs/personas/accountant) | Coming soon |
| [Marketing](/docs/personas/marketing) | Coming soon |

Neither of these personas is open yet. The Coder is the only persona available today, and it does not list Salesforce.

## What assistants can do

Salesforce connects through your org's own hosted connector, and it is read only.

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| Read accounts and contacts | Reads on its own |
| Read leads and opportunities | Reads on its own |
| Create or update a record | Never run from chat |

## Setup (when it opens)

1. In Salesforce, open Setup and turn on a server for assistants to connect to. Copy its address.
2. Create a connected app and generate an access token from it. Use a user whose access is limited to the records you want to share.
3. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) in StellarFirm and pick Salesforce.
4. Paste the access token and your server address. Salesforce is the one tool here that needs both, because every org has its own address.
5. Switch on the live option and press Connect.

## Permissions

- The assistants read what the token's user can read. Salesforce field and record rules still apply.
- Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data. Updating a record is never run from chat.
- Revoke the connected app's token in Salesforce whenever you want to cut access.

## Good to know

- The server address looks different for every company. Copy it exactly from Salesforce, and include the full path.
- Access tokens from Salesforce may expire. If the assistants say they cannot reach Salesforce, generate a new one and paste it again.
- Ask for a specific slice, such as "opportunities closing this month", to keep answers short.

## Prompts to try

```prompt title="Review this month's pipeline"
Accountant, list the opportunities closing this month with their stages and owners. Read only.
```

```prompt title="Look up an account"
Accountant, find the account for [company] and list its contacts and open opportunities.
```

```prompt title="Find leads for a campaign"
Marketing, list the new leads from the last two weeks and group them by source. Do not change any record.
```
