> Let assistants list and read Outlook mail and leave replies as drafts. Coming soon: sending always waits for your Approve.

Status: Coming soon

Outlook lets an assistant read your Microsoft mail and write replies as drafts. Nothing is sent until you approve it.

> [!SOON]
> Outlook is Coming soon. The assistants that use it, other than the Coder, are Coming soon too.

## At a glance

| Category | Mail and calendar |
| Status | Coming soon |
| Used by | Accountant, Marketing, Legal (all Coming soon) |

## What assistants can do

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| List and read mail | Reads on its own |
| Create drafts (nothing is sent) | Reads on its own |
| Send a draft | Waits for your Approve |

## Setup (when it opens)

1. In Microsoft's admin portal, register an app with mail permissions and create a secret for it. Copy the access token or secret details it gives you.
2. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) and pick **Outlook**.
3. Paste the token and press **Connect**.
4. Leave sending off until you want it.

## Permissions

In plain words, the app needs to:

- **Read** mail in the mailbox.
- **Create drafts** in that mailbox.
- **Send** mail, only if you will allow sending.

Your Microsoft administrator may need to approve these permissions first.

## Good to know

- Sending is off by default, and every send waits for your Approve, unless your [house rules](/docs/ceo/house-rules) say otherwise for that category.
- Outlook covers mail only. Microsoft Teams is not connected yet; see [Microsoft Teams](/docs/integrations/microsoft-teams).
- Your token stays with your StellarFirm workspace and is never shown back to you. The page shows only that it is connected.
- Drafts appear in Outlook's own Drafts folder.

## Prompts

```prompt title="Draft a reply"
Marketing, draft a reply to the latest customer mail and leave it as an Outlook draft. Do not send until I Approve.
```

```prompt title="Find invoices"
Accountant, find mail from this month that contains an invoice and list the sender, the date, and the amount due.
```
